New Trailer

Well we did it! we have been thinking about getting either a new tent, or a pop-up. As you can see, we went with the pop-up.

We spent the night in it Friday with the kids, and we all absolutely love it! It has a king, queen, and full size beds, a toilet/shower, gas range (can also be attached to the outside of the trailer) sink, and refrigerator.

Anyone ready to go camping? Lets do it!

ANSON HUMOR

Ok so the humor isn't the fact that Anson broke his leg. But I will get to it. I came home early from work to allow Kay to go to the Dr about Strep throat, which she does have. She has been in bed most of the day with a fever and not so good feeling throat. Anyway I got a knock at the door and a lady who I recognized from church, but didn't quite know who she was asked if Anson could come over and play. Anson heard a knock at the door, and was excited to see a little girl at the door at seemed to be his age. (I later found out that they went to the same pre-school) So I let him go play at their house. the female said she would bring him back about 3:30. When he left it was just after 2pm.

I got another knock at the door at about 2:40. WOW that didn't last long. there he was, crying. not an uncommon thing for him, it is normally that someone wasn't playing nice, or he got his feelings hurt and wants to go home. no big deal. this time he was complaining of hurting his leg. also not uncommon around here, they usually ham it up for an hour and then forget about it. I couldn't see any cuts or swelling or anything really. so i put him on the couch to rest it.

Two hours later he is still on the couch wailing about it. this time I saw a little swelling. so I decided to take him in to see the DR before they closed and I end up paying twice as much. it's broken.

So whats so funny? all his one liners! I had to deceive him a little to get him to go to the DR. basically the only time he has gone to the DR that he remembers was to get his shots. Don't even mention anything about a DR to him! anyway there is a lady named Sharon, she lives next door to Kay's parents, she also works at the pediatric office we go to. I had to tell him that we were going to see Sharon to get it feeling better. As we drove into the parking lot, he recognized where we were going. It was the end of the world! "OH DAD WWWWHHHHHYYYYYY!"

We had just gotten done with the x-rays. the nurse asked Anson if he wanted a sticker. "NO I WANT A TREAT!" she came back with a cup of tootsie rolls for him.

The Dr told us that it was broken, and was in the process of putting a temporary splint on his leg. He explained we would need to come back next week to get a hard cast. Anson - "Well what color are they going to use? I don't want any girl colors, just boy colors."

You've got to understand, Anson tries to get out of going to church every way he can each week. he thinks it's boring. anyway we get home, and he is sitting in the baby stroller to eat his dinner. "well I guess I don't half to go to church with a broken leg!"

I must say this .... he took it like a man! Not too much of a complaint for someone who just broke their leg, refused to go to the doctor, took advantage of the opportunity of getting some candy, made it clear that no girl colors go on his leg, and found a good excuse not to go to church. oh. wait. never-mind.

The Challenge

ok so my wife thinks i am a little crazy. Yes, i play with dirt. And to show her that i am not the only one that plays with dirt, i have a Challenge! this is Japanese art called Dorodango. it's made from dirt, tap water, time and lots of patients. I think it's cool. so the challenge is for you to make your own dorodango and send me a picture of it. you can post it on facebook if you wish, but just be sure that Kaylynn is aware of your progress! to help you out, here are a few web pages on how to do it. i am on day 7 of mine, and i am attempting to polish the shine onto it. snakes

RAN INTO THIS LITTLE GUY TONIGHT (ON DUTY). IT WAS RIGHT ON HER FRONT STEPS COILED AND SHAKING HIS RATTLE. KINDA COOL. ANOTHER OFFICER CAME UP, GRABBED IT AT THE HEAD, AND DROVE IT OUT OF THE AREA ... UMM YEA ... BETTER HIM THAN ME. THE LADY WAS CONFUSED WHY SHE KEEPS SEEING SNAKES AROUND HER HOUSE. SHE DIDNT LIKE IT MUCH WHEN I POINTED OUT THE OBVIOUS "UMM YOU LIVE IN THE MOUNTAINS, THIS WAS THEIR HOUSE FIRST" HER HOUSE SITS RIGHT UP AGAINST THE MOUNTAIN.
